Learning how to read VOC spikes turns that alert into useful information: a clue about what entered your air, how long it stayed there, and whether your home needs a simple reset or closer attention.

VOC readings are not a pass-fail grade for your home. They are a real-time signal. The most helpful approach is to look at the pattern, connect it to what was happening nearby, and watch how quickly the air returns to its usual level.

What a VOC spike is telling you

VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, are gases released from many everyday materials and activities.
